That’s not a slogan. It’s the baseline.

And it’s why I’m running for Congress as an Independent: because both parties have failed working people, and I’m not interested in protecting the system that keeps failing us. I’m interested in building what comes next.

Here’s what “dignity” looks like in policy — clearly, specifically, and without the usual Washington doublespeak.

End the cruelty: Abolish ICE and replace it with a humane naturalization system

We have millions of undocumented people who live here, work here, raise families here, pay taxes, and keep entire industries running — while politicians use them as props and punching bags.

So let’s stop pretending the answer is more raids, more cages, more fear.

Abolish ICE and replace it with a new naturalization agency that processes 12 million undocumented immigrants into legal residency within two years, staffed by 10,000 new administrative judges.

That’s what “order” actually means: a functional system, humane outcomes, and no one forced to live in the shadows.

Healthcare for all — guaranteed, because you’re human

Health care in America is a sick joke: you pay more, get less, and still risk bankruptcy.

So let’s stop treating survival like a luxury product.

I’m fighting for taxpayer-funded, comprehensive Health Care for All, free at point of care — and an end to private insurance middlemen and medical bankruptcies. Care is guaranteed because you’re human.

Fix the rigged economy: end wealth hoarding and tax the ultra-rich like the rest of us

The affordability crisis and the wealth-hoarding crisis are the same crisis. When the ultra-rich get loopholes and shelters, working people get the bill.

So here’s the principle: tax wealth the same way wages are taxed — no exceptions, no special lanes, no tricks.

That means treating income from wages, rent, inheritance, and capital gains the same — and eliminating the loopholes and “tax expenditures” that turn the IRS into concierge service for the wealthy.

Because wealth hoarding isn’t a strategy that helps the working class.

It’s theft — and it’s time we take that wealth back and invest it in the people who actually build this country.

Both Parties Failed Working People — It’s Time We Took the Power Back

I’m Loren Collin.

I’m running for Congress in California’s 34th District in Los Angeles because both parties have failed working people — and it’s time we took the power back.

I’m not running to “fix” the system. The current system wasn’t made for us.
I’m running to help build one that is.

A system where your taxes don’t disappear into billionaire tax breaks — but come back as healthcare, housing, and great schools.

A system where our immigrant neighbors aren’t hunted by ICE while Democrats and Republicans keep voting to expand it — but are finally given what they’ve earned: a path to citizenship that is dignified, humane, and based on our shared ideals.

A system where healthcare isn’t a privilege you pray you can afford — but a guarantee because you’re human. Period.

Because what we have now isn’t freedom.

For too many working people in our district, life is lived in fear and lived in debt. It’s the denial of the American dream we were all promised.

But we in California’s 34th deserve more than survival.

We deserve more than the scraps of the elites running the show. We deserve dignity in our work, stability in our lives, and power over our future.

And we deserve a leader who will stand with constituents on the most important issues — and not falter to party and corporate interests year after year.

Let me say this clearly: the ideas I’m fighting for aren’t radical.
What’s radical is letting working people suffer while Washington insiders look the other way.

I want every person in this district — every worker, business owner, immigrant, renter, mother, vendor, student, and grandparent — to have healthcare, housing, safety, and the dignity they’ve earned as a human being.

Here’s what that looks like:

End the cruelty. Build a humane system.

That means abolishing ICE and replacing it with a new naturalization agency that processes all 12 million undocumented immigrants with legal residency within two years, staffed by 10,000 new administrative judges.

Guarantee healthcare — because you’re human.

Health care for all: taxpayer-funded, comprehensive, and free at point of care.
Scrap private insurance and medical bankruptcies. Guarantee care because you’re human.

Take back the wealth being stolen from working people.

A new tax code where the first $100,000 you earn is taxed at 0%, and every dollar over $100,000 is taxed the same — whether it’s from wages, stocks, inheritance, or rent.

No loopholes. No shelters. No more free rides for the ultra-rich.

Because wealth hoarding isn’t a strategy that helps the working class.

It’s outright theft.

And it’s time to take that wealth back — and invest it in the people who actually build this country.

The Path Of Liberty Leads Directly To Bodily Autonomy and Abortion Rights

An individual person’s absolute right to control decisions about their body is paramount to maintaining liberty and freedom for all. This extends to a pregnant person making decisions about their body and their life without interference from the government or anyone else.

A proposed constitutional amendment for the right to bodily autonomy and abortion:

A person, including all natural born citizens, naturalized citizens, non-citizen residents and unregistered residents, has the right to full bodily autonomy. A pregnant person, including all natural born citizens, naturalized citizens, non-citizen residents and unregistered residents, has the right to terminate a pregnancy at any time.

While a constitutional amendment is ideal, a new federal bodily autonomy and abortion rights law that follows all of these criteria can pass without having to change a single word of the Constitution.

Not one single “baby” has died due to an abortion in the first 24 weeks of a pregnancy, because there is no human life or personhood before then, so there is no “baby.” When a pregnant person has had to make the painful choice to terminate their baby’s life after 24 weeks, the reason is because the baby and/or the mother would not have survived birth. There are 0 family planning abortions after 24 weeks.

If you, an individual pregnant person, do not want to have an abortion, then do not have an abortion.

That you might be tempted to have an abortion is not reason enough to prohibit others from the same.

If you are not a pregnant person, you have no say over what a pregnant person can do to their body.

The Bible, both the Hebrew text and New Testament, say nothing about abortion, nor do they ever imply a fetus has full moral and legal personhood. The closest the bible comes to mentioning a fetus at all is unsurprisingly as the property of the husband of a pregnant wife.

Abortion is healthcare. Bodily autonomy is liberty.

Government Has a Purpose–Guaranteeing Always Competitive Markets

In the exact same way the government uses force to protect your individual ability to believe, say and do as you wish (as long as you do not harm someone else’s life, liberty or property), it has an obligation to guarantee that you can participate in competitive markets.

How can the government guarantees competitive markets? By taxing excessive wealth, by taxing every dollar of wealth the same for individuals and corporations, by breaking up monopolies and oligopolies and by creating a safety regulatory system that does not choose the market’s winners and losers.

A business of any size paying even one worker a full-time wage that does not allow for the worker to pay for their own home, clothes and food is a freeloading business. That company wants you and me, the taxpayer, to pay for their profits, instead of earning their profits. No more freeloading businesses! It stops now with the power of our government enforcing these rules that we all have to work by.

When a competitive market cannot exist because the profit motive and social motive do not align, like with healthcare, education and defense, the government has a responsibility to create that market. Is this Marxist Socialism? No!

Do you know how I know that it is not Marxist Socialism? Because regulating markets to always be competitive has nothing to do with the Marxist socialist aims of abolishing private property, getting rid of cash, banning religion and ending the very idea of the state.

Regulated competitive markets are still capitalist, arguably, the most capitalist! They are just not the unregulated Free Market Capitalism or Laissez-faire Capitalism that every great thinker of the last 300 years said is as bad as Marxist Socialism. We also have seen how bad Free Market Capitalism is with our own eyes.

We have plenty of places to point to that are competitive market economies with great individual freedom. With our own eyes we can see the success of Denmark and Norway. These countries are meeting the metric: the government is guaranteeing that the most possible people can exist as they are and can fairly participate in competitive markets while accomplishing this with as much force as necessary, and not one ounce more.

Freedom to Exist as You Are

We owe it to ourselves to unite as one America that enshrines universal individual liberty. Universal individual liberty guarantees that you can define your own purpose, can pursue your own happiness and can live your own life as you see fit without interference from the government or anyone else.

In other words, you live your life and let everyone else live theirs. Liberty for all is not identity politics. It is basic human understanding. We can end the culture wars against each other only when we embrace one another as fully human in every regard.

There is no debate or two sides to a person’s right to exist as exactly who they are. In plain English, when it comes to telling another person how to live their life, mind your own business. We don’t want the government or anyone else telling us how to live, how to love or how to procreate.

Some people will be offended when everyone has liberty. That is ok. However, making a person feel less than fully human or robbing them of the security of being exactly who they are because you might not like it is an infringement of liberty which will no longer stand.

Universal Individual Liberty does not mean a country full of rugged individualists disconnected from one another. Far from it! We can only guarantee liberty for one when we all work together to guarantee liberty for all. Community is our strength.

Fight for your natural rights to be yourself everyday! Do not let anyone ever suggest you are less than enough for living your life as you see fit.

Let us guarantee to each other as our highest civic virtue the freedom to simply be.

Government has a purpose in our lives. What do you want your government to do for you?

I want mine to guarantee that the most possible people can define their own purpose in life and pursue their own happiness. It should accomplish this with as much force as necessary, and not one ounce more.

For instance, the problem with the fascist right is not their horrible ideas, they are absolutely free to have them! The problem is when the fascist right enforces their beliefs on me through law.

There is no compromise here. My government must protect my right to believe, say and do anything as long as I am not taking someone else's life, liberty and property. You start enforcing what I can believe, say and do to conform to your ideas and that is no longer freedom, that is now fascism.

The history of America, and the history of the world, is never actually delivering a universal government guarantee that every last resident of the country be treated as an equal human under the law.

We have a tension! The White Christian Nationalist gets to believe and spout their awful beliefs. They even get to be their racist selves. We get to tell them how awful they are. But once those beliefs start to harm another person's life, liberty and property, the government has a duty to step in and put a stop to it.

This must be universal and applied to every one in our borders: citizen, guest resident or visitor.

In the exact same way the government uses forces to protect my ability to believe, say and do, it has an obligation to guarantee that I can participate in a competitive marketplace. This comes by taxing excessive wealth, by taxing every dollar of wealth the same for individuals and corporations, by breaking up monopolies and oligopolies, by creating a safety regulatory system that does not choose the marketplace winners and losers.

A corporation paying even one worker a full-time wage that does not allow for the worker to pay for their own home, clothes and food is a freeloading corporation. That corporation wants you and me the taxpayer to pay for their profits, instead of earning their profits. No more freeloading corporations! It stops now with the power of our government enforcing these rules that we all have to play by.

Tax The Ultra Rich To Fix The United States

It is time we stop the ultra rich and the large corporations that they control from freeloading off of the American taxpayer for their unearned excessive wealth.

The US government is completely controlled by the ultra rich who have created a tax and regulatory system that enriches them while stealing from us. At the farthest out limit, there are maybe 100,000 ultra rich people and 1,000 large corporations in the US.

On the flip side, there are 336 million of us who are not ultra rich (and never will be, which is ok and to be expected).

For some reason though, we the people, or at least enough of us to make it the law of the land, have enabled hoarding wealth through the tax code by a very select few to the harm of the large majority of us. Better, we find enough of us willing to turn course and restore our power over the ultra rich and end the wealth hoarding that is destroying the US from within.

The people’s policy agenda uses government power to:

Tax every dollar of wealth for individuals and corporations the same after the first $500,000 per year
Create a national sales tax on luxuries
Ensure that every job pays a living wage for full-time work
- A living wage means a person can pay for their own home, food and clothing
- Where a company does not pay a living wage, create compliance by taxing the difference of what the company does pay versus what it must pay
- No more freeloading companies living off of the taxpayer!
Fund the government to provide
- Universal healthcare
- Universal education
- Our common defense
- A safety regulatory state
  - The safety regulatory state should not impede competition or choose winners outside of what the market would decide
  - As to not impede competition, the burden for compliance should be no greater than the cost of meeting the requirements
  - However, there must be compliance, and when there is not, there is a tax

No more freeloading companies! No more stolen, unearned wealth! We absolutely can create a better government that works for all of us. No fear, only love.

The New York Times has an opinion piece titled How to Fix America’s Two-Party Problem. Unsurprisingly, the opinion article’s authors, Jesse Wegman and Lee Drutman, identify the problem and then pinpoint the wrong solution.

Wegman and Drutman are correct, we are all prisoners of the two party system, dominated by Democrats and Republicans, that has calcified itself in the House of Representatives. And that calcification has spread its way down through state houses and city councils across the country.

Now, if you are a billionaire oligarch or CEO of a large corporation, this power duopoly suits you well. You only have to buy off the two parties, which gets you all the representatives who pledge their allegiance to the parties for their existence. This is also good for the Democratic Party and the Republican Party as it ensures their reason for being.

We are left with an illusion of choice. Candidates work hard to get our votes, but end up in Congress representing their party and business interests, not you and me. This disfunction started with the Reapportionment Act of 1929 that capped the number of Representatives at 435.

As the article notes, “From the beginning of the House in 1789 until the early 20th century, its membership grew roughly in line with the U.S. population. At the start, there were about 34,000 constituents per representative; by 1911, that number had grown to more than 200,000 — much larger than the founders intended but still manageable. Today the average district holds more than 760,000 people, which is far too big for any one representative. As a result, tens of millions of Americans are represented by House members they did not support and in a highly polarized environment that leaves people feeling that they are not represented at all.”

Unfortunately, the article then turns to a secondary solution, Proportional Representation, while glossing over the most obvious and necessary solution: expand the size of the House.

The authors then give a pseudo-social scientific path forward on increasing the size of the House as necessary for Proportional Representation to even have a shot at working, "The fix for this problem is to expand the membership of the House of Representatives to reflect the size and diversity of the U.S. population in the 2020s rather than the 1920s. According to many political scientists, the optimal total number of members of the House and the Senate combined is equal to the cube root of the nation’s population. Legislatures in democracies around the world roughly align with this ratio; the U.S. House did, too, until its size was frozen by law at 435. Today the cube-root rule would give us a House with 593 members."

We actually have the clear answer to fixing the House. We must demand close to the same representation that Americans had in the 1920s. The House should triple in size to 1,305 members to achieve a ratio of one representative per 250,000 residents.

After doing the primary work of expanding the House, ideas like Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) or Proportional Representation are playing around the edges.

If we really want to get nuts, keep the Senate at two Senators per state, but make the Senate a veto only body. If the House passes a bill, it will go to the President to sign unless 3/4 of the Senate vetoes the bill. Additionally, the Senate would keep its role with the House to override presidential vetoes with a 2/3 affirmative vote by each body.

Now, neither Democrats or Republicans are going to increase the size of the House, because the parties and their backers know that doing so will increase the power of the people and decrease the power of the billionaire oligarchs and corporations.

In order to create the needed governance change, we need to elect independent Americans to Congress to pass the pro-American policies supported by the large majority of Americans. I hope you will join me in creating a truly independent movement.

Economics is not a Hard Science. And is a Rather Dismal Social Science.

Economics is not a hard science. Outside of some simple truths of the supply and demand curve, there is no testable economics hypothesis that accounts for all the variables of human behavior.

At best, economics is one of the humanities. In all honesty, economics is political philosophy.

The only thing we have is historical data. The historical data is quite clear: trickle down supply side economics is a fraud perpetuated by both parties. Republicans want to take this fraud to its most extreme and likely end where you and I get screwed and the wealthiest become even wealthier. Democrats want to mitigate the worst aspects of this fraud in order to still protect the billionaires and corporations. Do not worry, with the Democrats, you and I will still be getting screwed.

If you want concentrated wealth in the hands of a few, an ever shrinking middle class and ever increasing wealth inequality, then you have a winner in trickle down economics, the current system.

If you want wealth in the hands of the multitudes who labored to create it, an ever growing middle class and an amount of wealth inequality that does not destroy society, then you only have to do this one simple trick proven by history, tax the excessive wealth of the excessively wealthy and return that wealth to the workers who labored to create it.

Taxing excessive wealth does not change the fact that a government still has leverage on the economy through fiscal and monetary policy. Taxing excessive wealth simply returns your hard earned money to you. Your wallet gets fatter. Your life improves. The billionaires and corporations will not suffer one bit.

So why believe the lies? Why vote against your own self-interest? Why accept things as they are as though you have no power to change anything?

Stop listening to billionaires. Start acting in your own self-interest. Be a wise economist and demand that we tax the excessive wealth of the billionaires, multi-millionaires and large corporations.

How to Get White People to Act Against Their Own Interests

Five-hundred years ago, wealthy European aristocrats needed a way to convince their lower classes that the quickly growing African slave trade was not only morally acceptable, but would also be a benefit to them.

So the aristocrats invented race, racism and racial hierarchy with the first entrants a white race and a negro slave race.

The new racial hierarchy worked like a charm! The lowest class Europeans, now whites, would have a perpetual claim to superiority over African negro slaves. Sure, the lowest class whites (which made up the large majority of Europe’s population) barely had a subsistence existence. But no matter how bad they had it, at least they were above the black slave.

This made the exploitation and oppression of the whites super easy for the aristocracy while extending abject horror and torture onto the chattel negro slaves. Most importantly to the aristocrats, they had now had sources of cheap labor and even cheaper labor that would last forever.

The cheap labor would not complain and the cheaper labor could not complain.

Anyone who cared to see understood all along that the whole race concept existed as a total fiction, that no superiority or inferiority or hierarchy existed between the so-called races, and that in fact all of these people were equally human. Now, recognizing this almost universally meant not doing anything about it.

What was perfected as white against black racism became a tool to create racial hierarchy wherever Western Powers conquered during the Colonial Period.

This is the world we live in today, 500 years on. The fake ideas of race and racial hierarchy play out every day in the USA as real racism. The effects are also the same, people of European descent revel in their own exploitation and oppression by their upper class masters because of a false belief they benefit from a system that actually keeps them down. Blacks and other minorities deal with daily indignities being treated as less than a full human, leading to a lifetime of undeserved mental, and too often physical, horror and torture.

How to Get People of European descent to Act For Their Own Interests

Americans of European descent, now is the time to step-up and be a loud, unapologetic antiracist. This is not the work of Black people or other minorities to perform. People of European descent must change our culture to remove the ideas of race, racism and hierarchy that keep all working people down.

Why should you as an individual be antiracist? Because it will personally benefit you. That others and society will also benefit is secondary.

Destroy race, racism and racial hierarchy so that you can be free. So that you can enjoy all the good of your humanity. So that you can throw off your oppressors and enjoy true liberty.

You want your own mind to expand, stop believing in race. You want your heart to have more love, stop believing in race. You want your wallet to grow, stop believing in race.

How do you become an antiracist and start enjoying the benefits? Well, fully commit to erasing the idea of race from your mind. Believe the obvious truth that is in front of you, that each of us is fully human and that there is no hierarchy. There are no types of people to put above you or below you, there are only people like you trying to lead their life to the best of their ability.

I’m not suggesting you are going to read this article and suddenly be antiracist. I am suggesting that you start to do the work to train your mind on how racism holds you back. I am suggesting you train your mind to see everyone as individuals. With enough training you will get there.

Race, racism and racial hierarchy did not occur overnight, so we should not expect it to disappear overnight. Just like it took many generations 500 years ago to instill racism in society, we should assume it will take many generations to completely dismantle racism in society. That we might not see the results in our own lifetime does not stop us from starting the work now. Who knows, maybe we will get lucky and the world will wake up with us.

Antiracism is pro-human. Antiracism is pro-you.
